Hey guys I can barely type all this so please ignore any grammatical mistakes. I m very very sick since 3 days. I have really high fever (105° f) with a really upset tummy. I couldn't eat anything or I just puke it all out. I m living on plain water since 2 days.. can anyone please tell me that can I sleep in the same room as my piggies because they all live with me in my room and I don't want them to get sick from me.
 
Sorry you are not feeling well. Have you seen a doctor to determine what your illness may be as I guess whatever ailment you have will derermine whether you should keep contact with your pets to a minimum which I probably would do as a precaution. The most important thing is for you to seek medical advice for yourself to get yourself well again. Big hugs 🤗 x
 
So sorry you are so ill. Keep drinking plenty of liquids and I hope you begin to feel better soon and get over your illness. Have you seen a doctor as they may be able to prescribe you something to speed up your recovery as you must feel miserable now.
 
Very few human illnesses can spread to piggies but maybe avoid handling them just to be on the safe side. I think staying out of their room is a bit excessive but I'm no expert on these things.

Your piggies will be fine take care of yourself first and piggies second (closely followed by family and then the rest of the world but they can take care of themselves).

Get well soon. Don’t worry about eating, just make sure you’re drinking as much as you can stomach. If the temp isn’t coming down with paracetamol and ibuprofen (you can alternate them) then have a lukewarm bath. Put some water in the tub/bucket, start at your feet and work your way up.

Hopefully just a virus. But as said you should see a doctor.

Thank u so much guys I have a really terrible food poisoning which is also causing a high fever. I m on medication for 3 more days haha @SkyPipDotBernie yes my brother is a doctor but we don't talk to each other at all it's been many years this way plus I can't take normal medicine I can only digest the little kids medicine🙁 if I take a normal adult medicine which is strong I get even more sick Everytime🙁🙁 this all happened because of a KFC burger😡😡 but I m a lot better than yesterday night thank u everyone😘😘❤

I felt terribly ill this morning but had to pull myself together to get Mary to her vet appointment. I felt so sick on the drive there with a banging headache, but thankfully by then afternoon it had mostly passed. I often get headaches and often have days of feeling quite crappy. But this morning was a weird one for sure! My legs even felt achey. I thought I had a bug. But thankfully I’m ok now..I think.

Hope you make a speedy recovery, food poisoning sounds awful :hug:
 
oh no.. sounds awful.. Get well soon! Try and keep the fluid intake up... just wash your hands thoroughly when touching the pigs is all I would suggest.. x

Hope you are feeling better too @Hannah_xx - I slept really badly last night so got up, sorted the kids and the pigs then went back to bed.. One of the advantages of working from home.. I needed some Sleep and feel a lot better now!

Feeling ill is bad enough but knowing you paid for it buying a dodgy KFC is really annoying. I have had food poisoning and it is not pleasant. Take care and get well soon.

Hi!

Yes, you can sleep in the same room but if you have another person to feed your piggies until 2-4 days after your acute symptoms have disappeared, then please don't touch anything that is theirs and use good hygiene in case you have come down with salmonella, which is one of the few things that can be transmitted to guinea pigs.
