So I recently bought a 3rd guinea pig, and my other 2 piggies seem to accept her although she seems to like to keep to herself. I decided to put them all in the same home, and gave my new piggie the 2nd floor for sleeping and eating, although, the bridge I made doesn't seem to be very good...i was wondering what type of material would be good for making a bridge connecting the second level to the first

Is that base 3x2 grids for all of them to live in or just a temporary quarantine cage for the new one?I ask because it's on the small side for 3 guinea pigs.

As for bridges/ramps. I've seen people make them out of half plastic drainage pipe, bent C&c grids with some material lining...scored corex. There really is quite a bit of choice but you will likely need some more cage length in order to put in a ramp that's not too steep.

Yes, its a 3×2 for the bottom floor and then there's the upstairs which I'm slowly adding onto. I thought it seemed like a pretty good space for their size, and they seem to really like it. But I'm fairly new to it all and it's like a "take it as i go" process. But i wanted to add levels and couldnt figure out how theyre made

Some people use one of the grids, bent into a bridge with sides sort of shape and then line with correx and something for them to grip onto.

I do agree that the floor space is really too small for 3 guinea pigs as any loft area isn't counted towards total space as some just wont use it. I think the recommended for 3 sows is a minimum of 5x2 grids. I recently extended my trios C&C to a 5x2 with an L shape added on of 2x2 grids and they love the space.

For now, if I was you, I would remove the loft and add it to the main cage. Make sure they all have a bed each to hide away in and they should be fine, providing they have been properly bonded :)

Levels are nice but what is most counted is the main space, this is because our piggy wigs like to run around like crazy little imps popcorning all over the place, personally I am a fan of hay loft levels. It's always difficult if you are lacking places to put the actual cage...ours like many others on the forum ended up taking over a large area of a room when it was there. But that's part of the beauty of c&c, you can built it up and out any way you like which gives far more creative freedom to us pet owners. :D:hug:

There are some fantastic ideas in

And maybe a few ramps to help with a solution to you current ramp troubles.

Cage sizing is always a difficult subject for me to approach and I always worry I might upset or offend someone, so please don't think I am picking at you. Just trying to help you and your furry potatoes make the most of what is available to you all

I will definitely add more space for them, i do see what you all mean about the main space, because they do run and play everywhere and it does seem a little crowded. And the bridge idea is a great one, I'm surprised I hadn't thought of it :)
