Hi guys
I am building a new hutch and probably getting some new guinea pigs so need a new run, especially as there hutch will be bigger than there run. [the run is too small cause I bought it from a pet shop and they told me it was big enough] But everywhere is so expensive! I looked at happy hutches and the run I was told to get [6ft x 4ft, by the RSPCA for 4 piggies] is about £150 which is more than my hutch is costing to build!
What should I do? I am looking for large runs for 4 piggies under £100

if you are building a hutch why not build the run as well? then it can be as big as you want. Or you can build/buy 2 and let them out in pairs in runs on the grass.

Maybe you could build a run? I know when I bought mine, they were crazily expensive. I think I managed to get the boys one pretty cheap from my local agora centre, but that was a lucky buy and isn't really suitable for four pigs. Maybe you could have a look around smaller chain petshops, if there are any?

I don't know whether you are attaching it yoour cage, but have you looked on Ebay, under rabbit runs. I brought one that was folding the other week, not too expensive at £32.99. Not top quality but it doesn't stay out in the weather, only comes out on good days as my guineas live indoors.

I have looked at that one before! But does the roof completely cover the run thats pointing in a triangle shape ?or is that just the way the picture is taken?

I thought the pic was showing how the roof lifts/folds upwards - you could always contact the seller and ask - would be a pretty pointless run if it had no roof lol

Wow that run is a fantastic price for the size of it (and I've been researching runs for a while now lol)

my OH is starting to build runs and things, we have a 1m x 2m x 50cm (WxLxH), which cost us £45 to make, we can arrange delivery as well...so if anyone is interested just let me know :)

Ive just been looking at that run on ebay - absolutely awful feedback though. Damaged/smashed up/lost . Its a pre order too as theyre from abroad.

Ive avoid it like the plague lol

I am making mine, i got wire from a boot sale large roll for £15 and wood cut to length's from B&Q £10 i bought coach bolt's,wing nuts, pva glue, pins and staple gun and I'm also using some scraps of plywood all enough to make 6 panels of 1.2x50cm

yes the folding one on ebay has a flat roof, the picture is demonstrating the way it opens.

I got mine from here http://www.ukrabbithutches.co.uk/guineapigrun.html I got the 5x4 as recommended by the rspca in my area (feel like I have one too small now :red ) but even the 6' range is well under £100 - really well made and easy to put together, I love my run.

the best thing i have ever bought for my pigs! it's huge! mine stays out on the grass all summer as it's a bit of a fiddle to set it up and hasn't rusted at all, it only comes down in autumn when there's no hope for better weather. also, because it's covered on top it's totally secure and i'm happy to leave them pottering around in it all day. i think aswell for what it is it's an excellent price. i feel like a salesperson but i honestly can't recommend it highly enough, worth the initial outlay definitely!

here's a photo in the garden to get a bit more of an idea of the size (i have just realised i don't have a photo of the pigs in it! :{)
