hi i have two pet store cages connected together to make an L shape. this makes about 1,5 times the minimum floor space but still id like it to be bigger. i have the ferplast ones where you can open the whole side. the sides are 25ish cm high. you can remove the front sides. would i be able to connect the two sides to make a run? would 25 cm be high enough?

does anyone know if this would work?

You can attach playpens to commercial cages without any problems.
Whether 25cm high is enough, I’d be a little doubtful but it depends on the piggies in question! 25cm high would not be enough for mine (well, one in particular) as they climb on hidey houses. I have mine two grids high which is around 70cm

do you think it would work for a single boar? he had surgery two weeks ago and hasn’t been on his ledge since

Do you mean the height? I personally would not put a yet safe boar in a cage which could easily be escaped from. Lidded is best with boars who can still get a female pregnant.

the females are in an other building

i’ll give it a go and if it doesn’t work i’ll try something else

I doubt 25cm is high enough, a normal C&C grid is 35cm and works for some piggies but not our athletic Piggle who can leap 35cm no problem! We always go 60cm high in the playpen run and 2 C&C grids/70cm high for the cages!

this is it!:

i used toilet rolls to block the holes since he can chew those. (we have biological ones) and the cage is 110 by 50 and the other one 1 meter by 50. the new part is the same size as the small cage. (: i’m not sure how big that makes it exactly🤔

It looks nice. What is around the cage? Our boar climbed out of his c and c cage when he was waiting for his neutering 6 weeks, but we found him under the stairs. The house was secure. I'd worry about height more if there might be an open back door or something.

he’s in a bedroom. we have a dog so the door is always closed. the fence around the cage is made of the front pieces of cage.
