Can I have a list of Essex rescues please?

I'm not adopting, I have a large donation of fantastic quality vet bed (worth over £100 as barely used and about 8-9metres of it) but I want it to go to a trustworthy rescue (only donating because I've lost my GP and I'm devastated - I don't want to make money in their memory so not selling, doing good for other pigs will honor them much more - but don't want to risk it going to someone pretending to be a rescue) *and* I don't want it going to a rescue who offer extremely shoddy GP advice, like I found with the first result of googling Guinea Pig rescue essex grrrr (e.g. mix feeds, straw bedding, vitamin C in water, cruddy veg advice) because I spend hours and hours on my facebook page (www.facebook.com/guineapiginfo) trying to advise against just that and deal with all the results of such bad examples.

I have the vet bed (non slip/fantastic quality), old towels, water bottles maybe some other stuff I can bare to part with. But it really has to go to a rescue who is educating people on GP care. I just want a few I can look into :)

Rescues need to set a good example IMO, and thats the only kind of rescue I will give this too.

Sorry to hear of your loss but what a wonderful thing you are doing with wanting to donate your items. I applied to two local Guinea Pig & small animal rescues in Essex a few weeks back when i was looking for a friend for my Walter and neither of them got back to me! So i cant help with reccommending any..however i am due to go to my vet this week and they are really good - i can ask if they know of any others and get back to you if you would like?

Aw, hope you find somewhere - what a lovely idea :)
I spent a time yesterday browsing on ebay looking at piggy things and sending emails to people who were selling] 24" cages suitable for guinea pigs mallethead grrrr
This sort of thing just encourages people to buy smaller rather than larger :x I swear if I had my way, I'd be outside pet shops too with placards (after I'd snatched all the animals) reminding the public there are animals in rescues and not to buy on a whim blah blah blah...
Certain cause for me to be arrested though :x
I use vetbed and it's amazing x) and have loads in different colours for my 12 piggies x) so whoever you donate to will have some very comfy piggies - be great for the lifelong residents or poorly piggies as many rescues use things cost effectively.

Ahhhh that sure is a wonderful thing to do :) and a brilliant way to celebrate your piggie's lifes by helping so many more. I'm sorry for your loss, sounds like they were very loved, bet they were right spoiled :)). If you don't mind me asking where in Essex are you?

I am in Colchester in Essex :)
My mum said she will take me to a localish rescue to save the rescue petrol but otherwise as she works loads, it will need collecting.

I've noticed we don't have many rescues around here, Google only told me one and that was the one that was scary in regards to advice.

If not, I could either give it to another animal rescue or I could sell it and give money to a few different GP based rescues, not just in Essex.

I also have a Nero 2 cage, but don't want to give that to a pet home due to IMO it is way too small for even one pig - I used it as a cage for post operations, so a rescue may find a sensible use for it.

Ewww I don't know many in Colchester. There is Mistley Place park that rehomes different animals and I think Guinea pigs. Don't know if you like this one/ are close enough, but thought it was worth a suggestion. If not the other ideas sounded pretty good.
