At first it was funny ... every few days, the pigs would find their own way out of the cage. Now it is every few minutes!
I tried putting the pellet bucket in front of the door and that worked for a while, but soon they devised a new method of escape. Now I have a box of the mesh grids in front of the door, and you know how heavy those are. The pellet bucket is in front of that to stop it tipping over (they keep nudging it).
Still they manage to slink through! They are so determined!

Now they know how to escape, they won't stop. mallethead
I have to admit it is funny, but I am worried because when I go out they escape and can't get back in. :{

Soooo ... basically, I am wondering if there are any tips to "teach" them not to escape rather than just piling more junk in front of the door?

Can you get green plastic gardening ties that you tie up shoots of roses with? You can undo them anytime you want to open the cage, but not the piggies.

Is it that they are opening the door?

At most pets shops you can clips like on dog leads, I use those on my hutches, after a rabbit escaped! On one of them I have a clip off of a keyring I had.

i've used a couple of pegs to keep 2 of my grids together so i can still open and close it when i want :)
