I seem to be collecting neurotic piggies! :o
Must be the Nurse training!
Gingin Cleaned him out this afternoon it took a fair few arm swishes around the hutch to get him out! then had to pin him to my chest to stop him wriggling out talking quietly all the time Then put him in one of the out door runs for a couple of hours whilst cleaing him out and when getting him backin Well!
Again running like a bat (or piggie) out of hell! at one point lept 3ft on to the floor!
He again had to be restrained till i got him back in tothe hutch where he now sits peeking out of his pigloo!
He's 7month Abby big chunky chappie! But he was a problem with previous owners trying to pick him up
But even the Sunshine boys are not as bad as him!
I'm planning to put him out permently for summer just to get him more used to people and things around him (same with the sunshine boys)
Does any one have any other ideas for very fast 'don't hold me' guineas?

Boys eh!

Would he feel more secure if you kind of scooped him up in a small towel? That's what I do with the worst of mine - put it over them then pick them up in it. Not sure if it helps, but it stops them from leaping!

Poor Ginge. Doesn't sound like he's had many cuddles before coming to live with you. I bet by the time he hits a year old he'll be a lovely boy!

Oh bless him, he's a delight but if he carries on like that he'll hurt himself, the silly boy! Twinkle is very much hands off. I've a huge stainless steel bowl that I use to scoop him up in that and then stroke him and reassure him. I've tried catching him but it just stresses him. x

he is obviously not used to people, bless him! Towel is a fab idea, will try this on Twinkle as well he may prefer it. :)

What does Roly do Katie? Does he get in his Chube and you lift him up? Twinkle is good he steps right in his bowl and is ok like that they are such funny little things.

Ron, keep us posted on the little fella be interesting to see how things pan out with him. I'm sure he'll become tamer but I think sometimes they are just so stubborn they know excatly what they want! ;D

he's just a quick thing and blind too fear as well leaping 3 feet to the floor with no hesitation! :o :o :o
i'll have to set up a 'quiet corner for my 'special' boys and have lots of mediation and calming things! ;D ;)

Hmm, he's got wise to the chube technique Louise, so we have to "encourage" him into it! The towel is working best at the mo. Twinkle is cute, fancy getting into his bowl like a good boy!

I've used the bowl technique for all pigs at first but thought well I should just pick them up! Ant (Foster boy) would be out of his cage too and it's 5ft in the air he is fearless! ;D
