Recently I've found a couple of small whiteish clumps where the piggies have been to the toilet. My first thought was a calcium deposit but I'm not completely sure. Does anyone know what it is?
Any help would really be appreciated. X

Would you be able to post a photo?

Are they boys? If they are it could be from their anal sac 🤢. My two boys drag their bottoms along the blanket when scent marking and leave behind white marks like that. If they are girls I’ve no idea lol.

No they're girls although Fudge (the dominant one) does drag her bottom along the floor sometimes- particularly when I have just cleaned out the cage.
Thanks for your help anyway x

Maybe girls do it too? I thought it was a boy thing. Lol. I hope someone with more experience comes long soon.

I was going to say it could have possibly come from a grotty(!) penis (as some boys are not the best at cleaning themselves!) but that’s a no too then!
It could maybe be a calcium deposit from her urine, as it looks like a pee just next to it. Not really seen a big blob like that myself really? Does it feel smooth or gritty if you rub it?

Yeah I thought it probably was a calcium deposit. I went to see if it was smooth or gritty but the blob was flattened out (I guess they have walked over it)!

Looks quite fresh so I’d keep an eye on them for more and see if you could maybe get to it before them to feel the texture!. You want it to have a smooth consistency as gritty can be a sign of bladder issues.
If you haven’t already read it here’s the diet guide, you don’t want to feed too many high calcium veggies and also filtered water and grain-free pellets can be good to keep calcium intake lower for them.
