I Live in the US, but am thinking of visiting England sometime. If I were to go, what are some things I would want to deffinately do/see?

Depends what you like doing i suppose. We've got plenty of theme parks, museums, 'sights' to see.

I can think of two Amusement parks off hand and they are, Chessington World of Adventures and Alton Towers, but I can not think for the life of me where they are located so not very helpful, but try googling them.

Are you interested in doing London? The countryside? Where abouts are you visiting? I take it you'd fly to one of the London Airports, and perhaps you'd visit one of the countys around them. It depends what your interests are really and what you mean by fun stuff.

Well, chessington is in Chessington. My OH used to live around the corner from there. I dont know where alton towers is, Both good i believe.

considering that the US dont really have "old" buildings, I would def. go and see some castles and especially castle ruins, and things like Stonehenge..

I mean a friend of mine went to a medieval faire in the US and they had a wooden castle built up for the day because there just arent any to have that sort of event at!

if you are into that sort of thing, that might be well worth seeing :)

Alton Towers is in Staffordshire in the Midlands (between Leek and Uttoxeter).

For culture, Stratford-upon-Avon is very popular with American tourists (any many other overseas visitors) since it's Shakespeare's birthplace and home to The Royal Shakespeare Theatre. It's also in the Midlands, near Birmingham.

We did the London Eye this year and it was great. Plan to go back to London to do more. Depends on what time of year you go there - tourists were a nightmare (like us!)

I would say that Londons famous buildings like Big Ben and Buck House would be brillaint and of course places like MadamTaussauds london eye etc, stone henge already suggested and definatly a castle

Warwick Castle is good. It's a mediaeval castle in the Midlands with re-enactments, knights jousting, staff in period costume, a Madame Tussauds waxworks, etc.

Sorry I keep plugging the Midlands, but I'm from Birmingham you see. :D

Fountains Abbey in North Yorkshire. That place has an atmosphere you'll never find anywhere else :)
