So, today I ended up taking them. Theres two, Luna and Poppy. They're a few years old and like many 12-14 year olds she was all hyped up about getting them, got them, then was so done with them and no one wants them so I took them even though I dont like them as a pet I dont like anything not being cared for right. But they are very scared mainly Luna, when I go by their cage they kick and throw bedding everywhere and about make me hit the ceiling as well. I also have a cat that's rather interested in them so I cant just turn them out in my room for them to get used to me. I was wondering if theres good way to get them used to me without giving them panic attacks like just holding them because their heart boutgoes 1000 mph when I've done that lol.

Guinea pigs will almost always be scared at first, it is often just a matter of time. Some take longer than others.

When I first got our guinea pigs, they were babies and I spent a lot of time just sat near them and talking to them so they got used to my voice.. Even now as i walk into the room, if i am going over to the piggies then I start speaking to them as i approach... Be patient, it does take time for them to settle..
