My sweet Peppa was diagnosed with Lymphoma. We go next week for staging, but with the amount of lumps and how quickly they appeared, her vet (exotic vet) does not think that it will good. We are syringe feeding her because pellets are difficult for her to eat, as well as switched to a water bowl because she cannot lift her head for the bottle. We are prepared for the fact that the staging appointment may result in her being pts. She is still eating hay and loves fruits. I just wanted to know what some of your guineas favorite treats were because I just want to spoil her for the remaining days she ahs with us.

I'm so sorry you and her are having to go through this. We had a boy diagnosed with cancer in March 2021 and he was fine until the day before he passed on January 9th 2022. If yours definitely hasn't got much time then give her naughty but nice treats like spinach & parsley. Other things they love are celery leaves and green beans. For her water intake mix 1/4 teaspoon of probiotic (Avipro Plus or Pro-C) with 20ml of water and give her 4 or 5ml after each syringe feeding session.

Oh dear, I am so sorry to hear about your Peppa, what a terrible time you are both having. I wish you and Pepper all the luck in the world! On special occasions I treat my piggies to plums and pears. Apart from that they get their usual things like romaine lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, green bell peppers and carrots. My thoughts are with you both ❤️

I have never thought about plums. She loves sweeter fruits like that so I will definitely get her some. Thank you so much.

Just be careful when slicing around the stone in the middle as it contains cyanide which is obviously toxic. I just slice around the edges to make sure I don't even touch the stone.

So sorry to hear about your beloved Peppa. My Jellybaby had lymphoma too. He was a skinny pig so lumps were very obvious. He didn’t like fruit but liked dill as a treat but I did still try to keep high calcium/oxalate treats in moderation. He was with us longer than we had expected. Thinking of you x

So sorry that you are facing this.
When my Jemimah was diagnosed with an inoperable tumour I decided to ensure she was comfortable and enjoyed whatever time she had left.
The vet gave me pain killers when they were needed, she did get a few more treats than normal and we made lots of memories.
She died peacefully one night surrounded by her friends.

Holding you in my heart ♥️

So sorry you are going through this.

My old boy Gibson loved porridge. Not just the oats, we made it up for him, he loved the golden syrup sachet stuff, made with oat milk. Just a teaspoon was enough, he really enjoyed it. It warmed his old man bones x

Update: Her first symptom was on January 9. We go back to the vet this Thursday, January 26, but I am afraid she is not going to make it to the visit. She has officially stopped eating anything, including syringe feedings, and the masses have hardened to the point she can not longer walk. She loved her medicine up until yesterday. Now she refuses it and when I am able to get some medicine into her, she spits it out. Please keep Peppa in your thoughts. I know she is in so much pain and I wish there was more for me to do. Her herd knows she is not going to be here much longer and are getting depressed. We are trying to love on them so much to help them through their grieving.

It’s a heartbreaking diagnosis but you’ve obviously been giving her the best end of life care. If she’s stopped eating and in pain, can you get to the vet before Thursday. Holding you and Peppa in my thoughts ❤️

How awful. I'm sorry you're going through this. Honestly I'd ring the vet and say things have taken a turn and take her in sooner. As she's refusing everything now I'd say she's had the call for the rainbow bridge. If she is in pain I'd recommend helping her across the bridge. I'm so sorry 😞

:agr:
it must be so difficult to watch, particularly as you have tried so hard, but I would call the vets and ask to be seen sooner if at all possible.
It sounds like she might be ready to go now, and the kindest thing you can do is offer her some help with this.

I’m so very sorry. The kindest thing now would be to help her over the bridge. Sending you a hug 🤗
