Hi,

our two 2 year old female guinea pigs today are very poorly.

mine of them has blood over its mouth and struggling / lethargic the other is very lethargic.

would have put it down to the heat ( uk) however they have been in shade / cool area and had lots to eat / drink and have been really in good form.

many idEas on how to perk them up?

:agr: you need to take your piggies to the vet as a matter of urgency.

Sorry to hear they’re poorly. Do let us know how you get on at the vets. Good luck!

Hi we tried to take them to the vet but as I was transporting them one died and the other then died :( very confusing situation- one had blood from the mouth and the other in her tummy with a hole in her tummy ( both females ) really struggling to understand what has happened and I’m more distraught that my daughter :(

I’m so sorry your girls have died. I’m sure you did everything you could for them. The only way to find out What killed them would be to take them to the vets for an autopsy, but that could be quite costly. Give yourself time to grieve - they may be small creatures but they affect our lives greatly when they cross the rainbow bridge.😢

I'm so sorry for your loss. Could they have have been attacked by another animal while outdoors? I can't think of a cause for a hole in one's abdomen other than trauma. This must have been such a shock, I'm sorry.
