Junior Guinea Pig
Hi everyone,
As some of you might know I have an almost 8 year old piggy named Ginny. My mom takes care of her while I’m away at uni. Last weekend, I came home and Ginny really wasn’t walking and her hips were kind of laying on one side. So I rushed her to the vet, and the vet said it could be some sort of cancer or just natural atrophy, but that she likely won’t walk much anymore and her back legs have little to no. They prescribed gabapentin and meloxicam and I’m going back soon for a follow up.
Ginny’s appetite and poops are still very normal and healthy. I’ve noticed however that she is drinking like an insane amount of water. She’ll drink nonstop for like 30 minutes. What could this be from? Should I bring up a new diagnosis possibly to the vet? Could this be connected with her not being able to walk anymore? Please let me know! I’ve also been giving her critical care per vet recommendation
