Has anyone ever seen something like this on guinea pig poop or poop that is sort of a "cut"?

Nope that poop does not look healthy at all. Maybe your piggies have some sort of gut issue. If your worried at all I would have them checked out by a vet

I've already written to the vet, I'm just waiting to see if she'll take me today. I think I know which guinea pig boy it's from, but I don't see any change in his behavior and he's still at his unreal weight of almost a kilo and a half and he's happily running around.

Have you been feeding him any types of veg more then usual

Mucus can form in poop sometimes when there is a tummy upset. I would suggest switching from weekly to daily weight checks so you can more closely monitor hay intake. It would be worth temporarily stopping veg so any tummy upset can settle.
It’s great you’ve been in contact with the vet already. Hopefully they can get him in for a check in case it is something other than a mild tummy upset

I didn't make any changes to their diet, I'll ask my boyfriend when he comes over whether he secretly gave them something extra. Do you think some kind of veggie could cause this?

Yeah maybe some vegetables that are higher in calcium should be fed in moderation and not everyday of the week

So this mucus can go away on its own after a while when his tummy calms down?

It depends what is causing it.

The standard advice for a mild tummy upset is to stop all veg when a tummy upset is suspected. Keep piggy off veg for a few days until poops normalise and then for a further 24 hours after. Switching to daily weight checks and speaking to a vet.
You can then reintroduce veg slowly if things improve, but keep watch for any signs of an issue starting again.
If things don’t improve in a few days, then further vet advice should be sought. Persistent digestive issues may require further investigation.

Great, thank you so much for the advice. I've been going through the poops and so far there's only one that looks like it has "eggs" and three that are sort of a cut and the others are perfectly normal so maybe am just worried too soon, but that's probably better with piggies.

So the vet just wrote me back that their machine, that could somehow check the poops better, broke and if there are no other signs (like at least some fatigue, weight loss...) I should wait until Monday and if the poops persist or if there is any unusual behavior, I should call

then I would definitely remove veg from the diet for now and weigh him every day (at the same time each day), so you can be sure he is eating enough hay
Hopefully, its a mild upset and he will feel better in a few days

@Guinea lover 1982 please can we ask that you do not give advice in the health and illness section of the forum. You are a new member and while we appreciate that you want to be involved in our community and that you are keen to help others, you are still very much in the learning stages of owning and caring for guinea pigs yourself. We have a dedicated team of long term members who are able to give advice in health and illness section and we would prefer it if they could be left to answer the health and illness threads.

We have had mucus poops from several piggies over the years. Agreed with the stopping then reintroduction of veg. Feed plenty of hay and that will help keep guts moving

Hi!

It looks like a minor tummy upset. Please take your piggy off any fresh food for 24-48 hours and make sure that they have access to plenty of fresh water during that time. That will hopefully do the trick of allowing the gut microbiome to the sort itself out again.

If you are worrying about the food intake, switch from the normal once weekly weigh-in on your kitchen scales to weighing daily at the same time. The scales are the best and most reliable health monitoring tool because they give you unbiased up to date information, which is not matched by the poo output (runs generally a day behind) and by your eye (the all important hay intake, which makes around 80% of what a piggy eats in a day, canot just be measured by eye).
Weight Monitoring and Management

Please see a vet if there is a steady weigh loss over 50-100g or if the problem persists.

I never witnessed something like this, but you could try Rodicare akut, if you have got it at home. It usually works well with minor tummy problems.
It's always unnerving when the next possible trip to the vet is a weekend away.
