Hello,
I have noticed that my boar, Chicken, constantly has black earwax in his right ear. There’s never any in is left ear, however. Usually every 1-2 weeks I q-tip his outer ear. It doesn’t seem to bother him to much, but I am wondering what could cause this. He otherwise acts normal and eats fine.

Hi

Some piggies seem to have a genetical disposition for overproduction of ear wax. This can affect often just one ear. I have noticed this mostly in my teddies.

The ear wax always is the same colour as the skin it is produced from. Please do not use cotton buds and never pour anything down an ear. It is too sensitive an organ. A vet may be able to recommend a suitable US product for small rodents.
I am UK based.
