Earning piggies trust

Hi, just bought 2 boar piggies about a week ago. They are very timid and I have no experience of keeping them. Any tips?
 
Feeding veg and treats by hand is a great way to get your piggie to realise you are friendly. Speak softly, let them sniff you and remember that any sudden movements will send them scattering! Congratulations on your new arrivals, and welcome to the forum! ;D
 
They are Harry and Nibbles. Nibbles has just taken some cucumber off me but Harry isn't having any yet. I will keep trying :)
 
Aw, I bet they're lovely. I have a very skittish pig, some of them are just like that. Do you have any photos of them? :) We love cooing over piggies on this forum and I bet everyone would love to meet Nibbles and Harry. (sorry if I'm being pushy! we're all enthusiastic piggie fans here!)

I haven't taken any pics yet, but will. Then I'll have to learn how to upload them here. Thanks for the welcome. :laugh:
 
welcome alfie I'm quite new too - my guinea pigs called Archie ;D

guinea pigs love food so yes treats will definately work O0

Archie is a lovely name. :) . I have added piccies on the photo bit on here.
 
thank you ;) i cant get pics on here at the moment but hopefully will be able to in the near future - ive got a tri coloured Aby hes a cutie
 
Can't wait to see those piccies, Archie sounds cute. First big clean for my two today, I am sure that will be fun. :)
