Hi,

I have a new group of a castrated boar and 2 sows. They all get along really well and have been together a couple of months.

This morning I was watching them and the boar (Ted) was next to Betty and he started to lick her ears - really sucking them and licking. She closed her eyes, and really looked like she enjoyed it.

Is that normal? It didn't look aggressive at all.

No, ear licking is a friendly gesture; it translates as "I want to you to be a member of my herd."
