Hi!
I'm thinking of cleaning my guinea pigs ears soon. What materials do I need?

Please don’t clean their ears. They are very delicate. If you have noticed a problem with their ears please seek medical advice. 😃

Agree with all of the above.
If you notice a problem with their ears please take then to a vet.

Even my older piggies (6+ years) have never needed their ears cleaned.

Most piggies do not need an ear clean in the first place. If you notice a bad build up of wax or any discomfort in the ears, please see a vet rather than do home DIY as you can easily do more harm than good.

Recommendations have changed on this aspect from old school practice.

Please do not attempt to do anything with your guinea pigs’ ears. If there is any sort of issue, leave it to a vet.
I appreciate that you’ve got new piggies and have many questions about their care - and that at first it can seem overwhelming, but we have a very comprehensive set of guides that will help you with the basics. Check out the tab marked Guinea Pig Info. And there you will find many guides. I’m giving you a link to the beginners’ starter bundle of guides. Please do have a good read of them, as they have so much helpful information in there. Helpful Info Collections for Wannabes & Owners
