Hello! My two little guinea pigs are just getting over pneumonia, and ecen though they are on their second subscription of antibiotics, they are still having trouble sneezing. The vet recommended changing out the bedding and detergent. We switched our fleece bedding from tide to all, but the sneezing persists. For their litter box, we have been using "carefresh," which was vet recommended and claims to have no dust, but I can see the dust as I put it in their cage. I absolutely refuse to use wood chips, and they keep trying to eat "yesterday's news." Are there any completely dust free beddings out there for the litter box that they won't eat? Should I just seitch to using fleece for their litter box as well?

aubiose hemp bedding is very absorbent, dust free as can be.it can be bought from a horse feed supplier or on line.:)

I currently use fleece lining. I used to use Carefree bedding, but I haven't had health issues from it. Both my Finn and Lara are healthy.

The thing I like about fleece lining is I can change it as many times as I want and keep their cages always clean without worrying about the cost too much.
I do buy puppy pee-pads, which goes on the very bottom of the cage, then I line it with fleece liner, and on the very top, I put pee-pads in high traffic area.
Their pee-pads are changed every 2 days, fleece liners are changed every 5 days. Their entire cages get deep wash with soap and water, then get wiped with vinegar every 5 days.
Their fleece liners and pee-pads get washed with detergent and soaked in vinegar water for a couple of hours.

I use a waterproof bed pads in the litter box. No bedding at all. My boys hardly sneeze at all anymore. Hope your feel better soon!
