I have been using fleece for years now and used to dry it in the hallway of my old flat after washing, we have since got our own house so I have been drying the fleece and towels on a rack outside over the summer, however now winter is here I am having a nightmare!

So, just wondering how people usually dry their piggy fleece and towels? OH isnt really happy about having damp towels shedding hair all over the floor inside and outside its just not getting dry in this weather :o

This is a huge problem I have! I am constantly washing and trying to get everything dry before I have to change it again. The fleeces dry okay draped all over the place. With the towels I wash three at a time and put them on the heaters and over doors. It is a problem though. I know how you feel.

Yes this is tricky for me to. My OH keeps saying 'what is that?' when another inside out fleecy bed/liner/sack appears on a radiatorrolleyes
I have found that if you dry on a radiator / rack, a strip of waterproof tablecloth / oil cloth under the radiator catches the hairs / bits of stray hay that can then be brushed up. Not perfect but might help a bit?

Thankyou for your suggestions, luckily we have laminate downstairs so hair can be easily swept up once its dry but it seems to find its way around the house! remind me never to get white short haired piggles again ;)

I use fleece too and what i tend to do is put the fleece on the line regardless, as long as its not raining it will dry, i leave it overnight too.
On the days when i clean them out on a week night after work i put the fleece in the wash and set my time delay function so it starts washing at like 5am or something so it has completed by the time i get up then i stick it on the line all day whilst at work so it gets a good blow.

I dont really have the problem of hair and stuff on the towels, maybe because i always fold my feelces in half? so the towels just go on the radiator and they're fine.
I also wash all my fleeces in one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Horse-Wea...Horse_Wear_Equipment&var=&hash=item8e089856c1

just to save my washing machine filter from getting clogged as the one in my machine is not accessible to clean out myself.

I am lazy I save all my fleeces up wash once a week in a big load and dry in tumble dryer or on the line if dry and windy I also use the same as Bev as it saves hairs in the machine

Hi,

I usually leave mine on the line if dry especially is breezy, although cold it airs the towels etc, then I get them in and drap them over the top of the kitchen doors , heat rises so I find they dry in a day then:)

never thought to drape them over a door lol!
ahh you people with tumble dryers, how i envy you! ;)
As long as winter is not too wet I'm sticking with my washing line, my neighbours think I'm odd hanging stuff out all year round, they only put stuff on the line if its sunny lol rolleyes

Firstly I make sure the spin speed on the washer is set to 1200 rolleyes then I either stick the fleece & towels out on the line, they come in a bit damp but I then drape them over the bannisters at the top of the stairs, or over the shower door over the bath, & also stick the little pieces on radiators. The towels I can tumble as they never get hairs in them anyway, I put them under a layer of another fleece or a mattress topper, the cage fleece liner goes on top of everything so that's the one that gets muckiest/hairiest lol rolleyes:))

ooh wish I had a tumble dryer! Its chucking it down in Manchester today so I am going to do a radiator hang and hopefully it will be dry before OH gets up ;)

You can get half sized tumble dryers if space is an issue. I've even had a full size one in the cupboard under the stairs before in other houses but thankfully have a shed now so that's where the tumble dryer lives. I try and dry mine as much as I can outside and then finish them off for a few minutes in the tumble dryer. If you don't want to splash out on a tumble dryer maybe this would help: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produ...c_3/3|cat_14418551|Indoor+airers|14418554.htm I haven't tried one myself but have considered getting one as it can be folded away and uses less 'leccie than a tumble dryer.
