Dry skin on foot ?

Hello.
I have just been clipping the nails of my guinea pigs, and I have noticed a flap of realy dry looking skin that has begun to grow around the foot of lucas.
He can walk on his foot fine and does not seem to be in any pain.
What could this be, and what should I do about it ?

It`s on the front foot.
I`v just looked on the guinea lynx site and it gives info on there on what to do. I will clip it with some nail scissors.
