Dry skin, dandruff, or something else

After an incident about a year ago with guinea pig lice, I regularly check my boys skin/hair for anything wrong. I’ve noticed recently that they both seem to have white flakes around their back ends and I can’t seem to figure out why. I’m thinking it’s just dry skin or maybe dandruff caused by the change in temperatures around here and having the heat on in the house more often but, I just wanted to know if anyone has had a similar problem and what they did about it. Also I do regularly clean their house (every other day) and I only use fleece liners. Hopefully you other guinea parents can help☺️ I’ve also attached a picture of my very handsome boys so you can get some idea of who we’re working with!

Dry air from heating can have an effect but it’s best to have a vet check out any potential medical angles before assuming its something environmental.
Yes definitely! I scheduled an appointment for today to have them checked out☺️

Don't forget to let us know how you get on.
And whatever it is at least you have caught it really early so it should be easily treated.
We just got back from the vet and she said it was nothing to be concerned about☺️ She said it’s common for some piggies to get dry sometimes. But she did notice one of my boys sounded a little off and she checked him out a little more throughly and discovered he has a respiratory problem going on. We have him on meds now and I’m doing the best I can to get him healthy again. It’s harder with him because my little Oz is already a special needs piggy (he’s partially paralyzed and can’t move half of his face) but I will continue to work with him and do my very best to care for him. If anyone has any advice for respiratory infections/problems that would be greatly appreciated as well💕 thanks again for all of the support for my little piggies! We really appreciate it☺️💗

I’m so sry abt your piggy... and I’m also sorry that I don’t have any advice on respiratory problems. All I can give u is my support. Good luck!❤️🤞🏾
