Hey! I’m new here and I’ve just recently adopted two piggies. Mack and Beans are their names. Beans was munching on some parsley and was being adorable so I had to take a picture....but I noticed this yellowish white mark on her face. I looked closer up in person and to me it looks sort of dry. Does anyone have any experience with this? Obviously I would take her to the vet ASAP but I figured given the state of the world...I’d like to get some insight. Her female bunk mate is the alpha. Eating hay, pellets and fresh greens. Water is always full and I clean the habitat twice a week.

The photo is taken from too far away to be clear, but first, check it’s not just a piece of food stuck to her face.
If it isn’t, then definitely take her to a vet. We can’t say for definite as we aren’t vets, plus it’s not a clear picture, but any scabs around the mouth have the potential to be an infection called cheilitis which will require antibiotic treatment.

Okay, thank you. I’ll have another look at it today and see if it’s changed or if it can be wiped off.
