I've noticed Muffin has dry feet. They are not cracked, just peeling a little. Her cage is fleece and bath mats, and she has a hay box lined with wood shavings.
Do I need to do anything, or is this ok? I do worry about every little thing that's different!
When skin peels off the feet it can turn into bumble foot. It’s something to watch. I would just keep the cage extra clean. I know people put coconut oil on skinny pigs so I don’t think it would hurt to put on their feet. I’ve seen this on my Guinea pigs and it’s never amounted to anything. If it gets worse or concerning definitely see a vet.
Dont put anything on the feet unless a vet says you should. The issue with creaming feet is that it can make the skin too soft which then risks bumblefoot. They actually need the skin on their feet to be tough to protect them.
