Teenage Guinea Pig
hey guys
2 of my boars wont stop chewing the bars on their cages. they are in a C&C cage with a divide down the middle as they dont get along but sulk when i block their view from each other. if i put correx between them they just destroy it. the bar chewing is driving me mad all night every night even as i write this! Colossus is the worst for it hes a right nosy pig always trying to get a look at what all my other pigs are doing all the time as they are in the same room. ive started calling him a perv for it lol ive given them toys and beds and they have hay for carpet so always plenty to graze but it just never stops. ive tried disciplining him too by clapping to make him jump when he does it hoping it would put him off but that didnt work so ive tried squirting him with water instead but because he has so much tim to get away with it when I'm at work he hasn't improved at all.
alternative housing and spacing from other pigs isnt an option for me right now otherwise i would try it. and i was hoping that towards summer next year i would be able to afford to neuter him and maybe adopt a female companion for him of a similar age. would this work to improve his behaviour and stop him getting lonely?
hes a fairly skittish personality but quite easy to handle once you have hold of him had him on my lap for 2 hours at a time before as he seemed content
anywho thanks in advance
