My pig Archie who is nearly 4 months old has started drinking an awful lot ( 150mls a day). He has had his urine and blood checked and all is ok. Does anyone else have this problem or know about this and can give me any advice about his drinking.

If the tests have come back clear then it might be the case that some piggies drink more than others and this is quite normal so I wouldn't worry too much.

Yes it could be that he is just drinking more because he is growing.I take it that his teeth and mouth have been checked,and that you do not give him salt or mineral licks.

He is actually my mums guinea pig but as I was on here i thought i'd reply - he drinks loads and i mean loads. the problem is mum is having to clean the cage out almost daily and when she does the newspaper and bottom of the cage are soaked.

He is on his own at the moment (as he was an unplanned boy from one of mums girls) and the two girls in the same sized cage (nero4) only need cleaning about every 5 days and even then their paper isn't soaked like Archies.

I really doesnt seem normal :{

just to add - we have checked and its not a leaking water bottle, in fact we have tried a few water bottles to see if it makes a difference.

what bedding do you use? Might be worth trying something more absorbent.
Also is it wetter around the bottle area. I know it might not be leaking but some pigs like to play with them and let the water run.

I had a guinea like this, but she was older. You just have to clean every day and check for urine burn.
