Dried Apple Slices

[A Guinea Pig]

A friend of mine just gave me some of her daughter's guinea pig’s food after it passed away. I did not even know they had a guinea pig, but it was lovely of them to bring it by. They gave me a bag of Timothy hay that I'll use, some muesli pellets that I'll probably toss, and dried Apple slices. I have never given my guinea pigs dried apples, only fresh ones. Should I save the dried apples or toss them? The only ingredient is Apple.

Hello how lovely your friend thought of you - I think dried apples will have concentrated sugar so maybe best to throw those away

Dried apple is fine as a treat in small amounts.

We give small amounts of dried apple as they're in a forage mix we have - they have a little bit maybe once a week as their "sugary item" for that week.

Just a very small amount as an occasional treat is ok. But as it’s very high in sugar it should be limited.
