I bought a hutch from ebay last night, it's a big double one with a ramp to the second level. I gues it's a rabbit hutch not really a gunea pig hutch. Is the ramp and second level really safe for guinea pigs? I'm worried that they'll fall through the gap! Its quite a distance to the next level. Do any of you have guineas in this kind of hutch? It's one from pets at home originally. Thanks in advance!

How do I get a pic on here? I can attach them to all the other sites just not on hee!

It's free from nails and stuff they could injure themselves on, just not to sure about the height if the second level!

Hi there - i hve a hutch with a second level - my 2 lived just in the top bit for a while but i could see both liked climbing when in their run over logs etc so thought i would give them a go i made sides for the ramp using cardboard - but it fell off 10 minutes after they started using it and they they were not bothered! I also put a sturdy upside down box that i made into a 'den' underneath the ramp where the fall was the greatest and as it was wider than the ramp it it wll hopefully break any falls! So far so good!

There is another thread about this and i think there is a feature on cosy cavies website (excuse spelling) but they made a customer who is on here a tunnel for their ramp as the piggies wouldn't go down te ramp at all.

Hope this helps :)

Ah what a great idea. That is the same hutch too! I have a spare tunnel so i'll give it a go. Thank you all....
