Primrose weighs 1200g and was prescribed 6kg dose of cat metacam once a day when she had a hay poke. Advice on here was to split the dose and give 3kg dose twice a day, which i did and she was fine. A couple of months later she got another worse hay poke and i changed my vet they prescribed dog loxicom 4kg dose once a day, or 2kg dose twice a day, what ever i was happier with for primrose.
This dosage sounds low as it's the cat metacam. Usually we give around the 0.4ml (not using the cat metacam syringe) and most Guinea pigs have the dog metacam which is stronger. Sorry I'm not a lot of help but your dosage sounds ok and if anything it sounds low to me.
