Done Something Stupid!

Hi all. I've done a stupid thing :-( I 've got 2 groups of 3pigs. 1 boy and 2 girls in each. I've had them all out tday and for one rason I put one girl pig in the wrong cage! She wpups have been with the ither 3for at least half an hour before i realised. She ws in the corner with the boy rumbling at her. I put her back in her proper cage and the boy rumbled at her. The girl is staying away from the others though. The boy comes over and rumbles at her and she rumbles back. Should I give them a bath so th al Snell the same? Or would that be more stressful for the girl? I hope they don't fall out becsuse I was so stupid :-(

The boy has just laid down next to her and stopped rumbling, not sure if they are ok or not?
 
The other group which had the extra girl in are arguing now :-( what have i done :-(

Is there anything I can do or do they just need to sort themselves out again?
 
I'm not experienced in mixed sex groups but I imagine the smell is causing some confusion. If it were me I would imagine that you should either bathe each group OR get something like a used bed or bedding/fleece that already has the original scents on it and rub it over all pigs within each group so they all smell piggy and then the same with your next group with one of their own beds.
Hopefully someone with a herd/trio will be able to agree or advise otherwise on this and fingers crossed your piggies don't fall out! Good luck!
 
Thank you! Those were my initial thoughts too. I gave the girl a quick rub down when putting her back in. I've just given them all a good rub down with their poopy bedding! Things are calm at the moment. The girl was a bit jumpy initially but she seems to be regaining her confidence.

I've been watching them since. I'm not great understanding gunes pig behaviour. There isn't any teeth chattering which can only be good thing.

I am hoping to see all guinea pig faces looking at me and squeaking fo veg in the morning!
 
Yes it did upset all piggies :-( all of them seemed to be re-asserting themselves and finding their pecking order again. It upset me too! I will be taking more care when putting them back! I'm sure I won't be the first person to make this mistake.

Will have to wait and see how they are tomorrow.

P.s. apologies for the spelling mistakes, I'm on my phone and was trying to post my problem asap.
 
Well it's been over a day since this happened and I am so pleased to report that both groups are happy! I even saw the girl popcorn twice! (Her name is Midnight, I was in a rush to get my message out so didn't give any of them names!) The boy (Button) seems to be OK as well and so does the boy who she was put in with by mistake (Jenson). Both boys are doing their usual level of rumble strutting.

Guinea pig relationships are so complex!
 
Phew - glad they've settled again. May have potentially ended up with split piggies or fights.
I was told a weeny bit of Vicks vapour rub on the nose helps, tried this when our girls fell out and it worked :)
