Worried I might have a problem.

Gadget, my dominant female of our herd of 5 (4 females and 1 neutered male). Has, over the last couple of weeks, been mounting every girl who comes into season.

The worry I have is that she is actively stopping Chinook from mounting his ladies and getting in his way, she also refuses to let him mount her. Now I wouldn't normally worry, but could Chinook see this as a challenge to his position? Could he one day attack her because of her actions? I feel really bad for him as its gotta be frustrating.

They seem alright at the moment, but he is quite aggressive at times and is a very moody boy, who very often uses brute force to get his way.

Anyone else had experience of this?

(PS just stating again, Chinook is neutered)

She just sounds like a very dominant sow. Some sows will take over the lead from a boar, if the boar doesnt have a leader like personality if that makes any sense? However, when my sows come into season some of the other girls will mount each other, it depends on how much my boar is bothered. If hes half asleep he wont care and let them get on with it. Otherwise he might join the mounting party. lol.

Nothing to worry about. Just normal piggie behaviour.

x.
