So I've had my two male guinea pigs for about a month now and at first they were getting along just fine, but over time they've started to turn against each other! They are both being very dominant, very loud squeaks, very loud teeth chattering, flicking there heads up, mounting, rumbling and biting of the ears! It's getting too much! It's normally at its peak when I've just cleaned the cage witch I do once a week, sometimes twice! But because it's all new smells once cleaned is probably why they try to fight for the place of "boss" but it's starting to upset me, I want them to get along, my boyfriend thinks I should leave them to it until one of them establishes that the other ones the boss! Is this the right thing to do? I also don't what to separate them as it would be too hard to get them back together! I Read I should take there homes out and just leave them in the cage with two separate piles of hay. At the moment they have there own homes. Is that the right thing to do? I don't want to wait until it's too late and one of them gets hurt! Or is this just normal? It's just, one of them seems to be cowering, hiding and running away and the one that's the most dominant is the course of that I presume? :(

It is right to have two of everything. If they have drawn blood you need to seperate I tried to put my 6 girls together and within 5 minutes full on fight. No blood drawn but won't do it again. If they have had a full on fight I would seperate them anyway. You can always put, them seperate but have them next to each other.

No, no blood yet! But I'm worried there will be soon! I really don't want separation to be an option! I might just play it by ear and see how they go! But please keep the advise coming! I'll take it all on board!
