Next weekend my parents are coming to stay, with their very boisterous Labrador cross (he's adorable and I've not seen him in so long. I can't wait!)

Unfortunately my guinea pigs live in the lounge, and it's impossible to keep him out of there. Their run does have a lid so they're safe, I just think he'll scare them.

My plan is to move the guinea pigs to my bedroom where he can be kept away from them. Normally their run is 110x140cm. I'll probably need to make it smaller, down to 70x140cm.

I have two girls. Can anyone foresee any trouble I might have in moving them to a different room and making the run smaller temporarily?

I've been away for a weekend with my piggies in a popup play paddling pool and they're fine for that short time.
I have a friend who pops in, whose dog goes mad barking at my pigs. My pigs are used to a quiet home but they don't seem to even register her, and carry on what they're doing. Perhaps you could briefly play barking sounds to your piggies to see whether they'd mind?

They should be okay in the smaller space. It still meets (and surpasses) the minimum they need. I would try and take them with dirty bedding (if you use fleece) and hides if possible.
