Dog bed as hay litter pan..?

Looks good except I’d take that grid thing out. Would a piggy fit in there comfortably with room to spare? I don’t know about yours but mine sometimes like to lie in their hay while eating...

Glad you think it'd be ok. It's huge, 60cm across or something, so yes hopefully they'd be able to chill out in it. Yes mesh out sounds good.

We use a dog bed for hay. I line it with a small fleece blanket and puppy pad as they pee a lot in there but it works really well to keep the hay contained

Thanks. Love that your piggie is just in shot in their hidey.

I agree you would need to remove the mesh botttom. I use a dog bed like @SallyM79 in one of my cages. My older boars like to be a little less exposed so they have a cheap pet carrier with the door removed each. They love to snuggle in the hay and go to sleep.

Looks very cosy and lovely piggie :-)

Anyone tried this instead of a litter tray for hay? I need to stop hay littering the house and also think this is very cute!

The end of my cage has an attachment like a litter tray. I fill it with newspaper, a puppy training pad and hay. The hay stays in one place, the pigs love burying in it and best of all they do all their toileting here so the rest of their cage doesn’t need cleaning very often. Is all I do is lift out the puppy training pad and replace it with a new one and fresh hay- easy!

Yeah that looks brilliant, as long as you take the mesh out it will be perfect, and will double as a hidey
