Does Vet Bed Need Washing Before Use?

I know that fleece needs washing before you use it but is it the same for vet bed? Just bought a roll to try with my piggies as their fleece wasn't staying dry enough. Thanks.

I washed mine once. Not sure that you need to for wicking purposes like fleece but mine had fluff coming off it and I didn't want any respiratory problems from inhaled bits.
