I have three guinea pigs who are starting to fight a lot. Piglet always gets bullied by the other two. Piglet hides from them because they always go after him. One day I noticed some marks on the guinea pigs back. I look closer only to find out that he had lots of scabby type things. Has he just been beaten up or could he have mites or something else ☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️ I have included a picture down below:7A07AEAB-26DF-4716-902E-91D1B8DE6508.webp

Poor Piglet that looks very sore - I agree with @Skypipdot that he needs to see a vet, as soon as possible. If I remember correctly from a previous thread you weren't sure of the sexes of your three guinea pigs and if one was pregnant or not - you shouldn't keep two boys and a girl together and three boys together rarely works. So it would be a good idea to take all your guinea pigs to the vet so that they can properly check what sexes they all are, check whether Tiger(?) is pregnant or not and to get Piglet's wounds/scabs diagnosed and treated. Good luck and best wishes to Piglet!

You will need to see a vet to get them checked.

However, what sex are the piggies? You mention ‘he’. If they are all Male then that will be a problem. It is incredibly difficult to keep three Male guinea pigs living together as they will fight. You can only keep two Male piggies together. If these marks are in fact wounds from fighting and not any medical issue, then as blood will have been drawn, you will need to separate him from the other two and they will not be able to live together any more, the fighting will continue if they remain together. Long term, you will then need to find this piggy a new friend so that he isn’t alone.

Please take piggy to the vet. It sounds like it could be wounds from fighting but if not it sounds like he is not able to live a normal piggy life with his current cagemates. If it's not wounds from fighting it could be mites or fungal and both of these need an appropriate strength treatment (different treatments as well) so a vet is best placed to advise

I agree, please do have him checked by a vet. He may also need an antibiotic to prevent the wounds from getting infected whether they’re bite wounds or from mites.

As mentioned, 3 males rarely live together. My Edward was part of a trio of boars and he was the bullied one his owners surrendered him to a rescue. He’s now happily living with his wife, Ellen

Hi!

Please see a vet asap! It is impossible to say for us whether it is caused by mange mites or fighting/bullying, but it in any case, this has too far advanced for home treating. If this is indeed mites, your boy is at acute risk of fitting, which is damaging for the heart.

Please separate your boars ASAP. They quite obviously aren't working out. Take the time to read the link below, which is talking you through all your options. How big is your cage? Sub-adult boar trios have a 90% fall-out risk during the teenage months. Even as adults, more trios don't work out than they so.
Boars: Teenage, Bullying, Fighting, Fall-outs And What Next?

Do NOT home treat for mites on spec with a low dosed broad spectrum shop product which will only temporarily suppress the symptoms but is not strong enough to get on top of them.
What to check and look out for in new guinea pigs (vet checks, sexing, parasites&illness)

Definitely one for the vet! This looks like a much more extreme version of poor Jezebel's bottom, bite marks and bald bits... she's had 3 rounds of mite treatment prescribed by the vet but still has bite marks and bald bits so we are going back to the vet on friday... poor piggy that looks very sore, I hope the vet can sort it out promptly!
