OK the girls have just gone back outside into their 2 tier hutch. They have no issues with the ramp which has a tunnel cover n they dash up n down like mad. In their indoor house through the winter I made about a 3Rd hay on newspaper and puppy pads and replaced daily. Threw a lot of hay away but they got so excited each nite when it was replaced. It made me laugh how one popcorned all over the place as I cleaned up as she new what was coming . Anyway now they are back outside I have put fleece down up and downstairs as it seemed to work inside. So before they used to have a small rack of hay upstairs with their pellets and bed area then downstairs was a couple of hidey places and dotted around mounds of hay with dust free chipping. Now I'm fleece I want to spot clean like i did in winter and have brought out their other wooden hay rack free standing and put that at one end downstairs on paper and puppy pads to again change every day... but tilly has decided this is her area and won't let flossy get to rummage round that bit. Do I make all the bottom floor hay but then I'm going to waste an awful lot where they wee all.over it. They have been used to fresh each day and that's what I want to keep up with but I feel what area I have made maybe isn't enough for them both without falling outs and I don't think they like the upstairs hay rack as much. It's hard finding a layout that works

I put a poundland tarp with newspaper over it in their hay area. The area has two entrances and two litter trays. Jingle would hog it otherwise!

More hay makes healthier teeth.

is it possible to place hay in two cat litter trays and change daily, then each piggie has access to hay,the dominant piggie cannot be in two places at once.Trying to get hay off the fleece is a chore !
I have 2 corner litter trays .. could try them to start only thing is the hay rack won't fit there too as that was the bit of hay that they can't wee on. and they wee for England.. though they do anywhere there is hay and like you say it keeps the hay easier to change. Thanks I will try

I have to be honest I want them back in the indoor house where I can easily clean and watch what they are doing. There isn't a place I can't get to... but the hutch is very restricted. ..they sit at the back so I can't see or get to them. They arnt daft.. but in doing that it's harder to make sure they both get what they need regards food and veg. But it's not possibe through the summer so I will have to do the best I can
