Does Anyone Use Treat Balls For Their Piggies?

Does anyone use the balls that dispense treats (AKA nuggets) when the piggies push them around? We got one ages ago for the boys to try to make them work for their food and give them something to play with. For about the first year they just weren't interested, in fact if anything Barney was scared of it. Then MrS decided to turn it into a challenge (for himself) and set about trying to teach them how to use it. Toby figured it out about a month ago and now has pretty impressive ball skills - you can see him working out where the hole is and then pushes the ball in the right direction. Barney, on the other hand, didn't seem to want to play with his food and just wanted to eat it. He was taking an awful long time to figure it out but I have just watched him as he started pushing it around and then won his treat! I am so proud of them both - my clever little men. I don't think they have realised that this means they will be getting less nuggets in the bowl now though!

Not less nuggets, I bet they count how many less.

Toby and Barney do that now - both together and individually! Will try to get a video of them soon. They obviously enjoy playing with because they popcorn quite a bit when they have finished with it.

Ooh what treat ball is it? I looked at one in a shop but it was rubbery and I'm sure Bella would eat the plastic and rubber lol.

We have this one - it is hard plastic

I never knew if my herd would like something like this. I think I might try them with one whilst I'm in the shed so I can supervise them and see if they like it

It did take a lot of time and persistence to get them to understand how to use it but now they love it. So if you get one for your herd you might have to put the work in but I think that once one had cracked it the others may just copy.

Oh yes I've seen this one in pet shops, my cat had one similar to this and didn't get along with it, but loves the Whiskas treat ball in the cat Christmas stocking and got it right away lol.
