Hi Dawn, This sounds something like Megazorb but without the dust. I've just got my first bag of Fitch which I'm going to try but I'll maybe give this a trial next. Of all the bedding I've used, I liked Megazorb the best & only stopped using it when I found out it wasn't meant for small animals. Though when saying small animals is that gerbils, hamsters & mice or are Guinea Pigs & Rabbits included. It would be interesting to hear from anybody who has used this.

One of my customers uses Megazorb I wasnt keen on it in my outdoor hutches but I think it would be good for indoor pets. I'm going to try the Maxi Bed next time I go to the supplier so Ill let you know what its like !

Is there a local supplier for this. I fancy trying some of this but the shipping is more than the price of a bale eg £7.50 + £9.50 & it doesn't get cheaper if you order 2 or 3 it eg £15.00 + £19.00 for 2 & £22.50 + £28.50 for 3. There is a mention of Single Packs - Full postage refund available but I'll have to ask them what they mean & I can't find it on website.

I got it from Feedall at Preston Farm in Eaglescliffe £8.50 per bale.:)

Did you try this out. I got a bag direct from the manufacturer & I really don't think it's suitable for guinea pigs & rabbits. It's got a very strong smell of pine, almost like a pine disinfectant. The bale lasted 3 weeks between my big run (2.4m x 1m) & 3 cages 1m to 1.2m each. I wouldn't use it in the long term so I'm now back to Megazorb but the latest batch is much finer than previous & has a strange smell. I got it from a different supplier so will go back to my original supplier for next bag.

I rang Northern Crop Dryers this morning regarding the difference in Megazorb to when I last used it about 4 months ago. They not drying it for as long as before to stop the dust if it dries out too much. They said that the bags are just the same size , 85 litres but I can't understand why when I've used a thinner layer of Megazorb I've used a bag in 2 weeks whereas before a bag would last 3 1/2 weeks (eg 2 bags 7 weeks). I went to Farmway at Stokesley where I originally bought it from but it was the same fine stuff that I bought from Millbry a fortnight ago so I bought a 20 Kg bale of Auboise instead, I like the look of this & have read up on it too. It's not made from wood or paper but hemp. I'm going to use it the same way I used Megazorb by spreading a 20 to 25mm layer onthe bottom of the run topped with a layer of hay. I'll let you know how it goes when I clean the run out after using it.
