Happy, sad... anything I have no clue! Fred is forever making noise but I can't work out what they mean if anything!

Aww Fred looks like he has filled out nicely and put on some weight. :)

Well Joey does those sounds too. But his is quieter I'm not sure what they mean though! He sometimes does it when he is exploring with Gizmo.

With mine it usually means he's found an interesting sniff, my boys often do this when they catch a whiff of a girl. :)

He does live with 2 he does it all the time! mallethead, it's not a scared noise though or unhappy?

Mine make it too. Not that I am experienced in any way but it seems to me its like 'ooh whats this....whats that'. Its usually when they are exploring. But hey...what the heck do I know :))

Definately not scared or unhappy, a little bit curious and excited I'd say :)

Mine do this too, especially Max who is generally a quiet wee man. Always seems to be when he is in a happy enough mood. He tends to stay totally quiet if he's not too sure of something and stayed completely quiet for about 10 days after Chip died :( I was so happy when he started chatting again!

This is one of Dindys most common lap noises, invariably made when contented and happy. I think Fred is just having a friendly chunter to you. Love his ridge.

zia makes this sound all the time when we have her out and when you rub her back she gets louder :)

I agree - curious but happy.

I also love his ridge - Mork has one too!

Happy chatty little chappy! He is excited, but not getting what he wants right then.

This is exactly the noise Mette-Marit makes when she potters around the cage muttering to herself! It's not all the time, so I think it's when she's in season.

The unhappy chatter sounds much whinier, I think, and what I think is the scared noise is shriller, if that makes any sense. How could Fred be anything but super happy ? :)

:)) good point, he constantly talks to himself and after he does his Brrr'ers he does a wee pathetic squeak to himself it is so funny!

Little Pixel makes this noise almost all the time (apart form when she's eating or sleeping! rolleyes )

Pippa does it when she's out of her cage quite loudly too, I'm pleased everyone thinks it a happy chattery noise :))

sounds like a happy noise to me. My Cody used to do that when we was popcorning around his cage and when he met his brother for the first time. I think they are just talking to themselves. Commenting on their life, haha. My boys always make that noise when they seem happy.
