I am getting some fake nails put on tommorow, but I forgot to ask how long they last, does anyone know?

I sometimes have acrylic nails done and they are fab. They last a good 4-5 weeks if done properly and you can have them infilled too every 3-4 weeks.
Although my last set only lasted a week as I went somewhere different so she obviously didnt put them on as good lol. x

I had mine done just under 2 weeks ago, they are fab.Mine are still looking good.I think you will need to have the infills done after about 3 weeks depending on how quickly your nails grow.
I had mine painted and a design put on the nail of the ring finger of each hand.
Took a little getting used to,but am ok with them now.I didn't have them done too long either.

I paid £7 for a set of 24 false nails and applied them myself on xmas eve and they are still on!

Here they are.....

Wow,they look good.Luckily mine only cost me £20,as she knows me,but they are worth trying if the pennies are short.Where did you have them from?

i bought them in Boots, the make is Broadway and they had short and very short, these are the short ones, and in the pack they have all different widths to suit your size!

Bargain if you ask me, ive washed my hair and washed up and everything! They come with a little tube of glue and were dead easy to apply x

I'm getting mine done at a nail place so they'll put them on for me, and I don't know why but I'm worried about what it will do to my real nails. I have really small hands and tiny, short nails, and I really only want the fake nails on for a few weeks and I'm worried that I won't be able to get them off for ages or something like that

i think you will get them off, but i also think they could make a mess of your own nails, thats what put me off, and i opted for these as the glue will come off.

I think you have to go in and have them soaked off.I too was worried about if they trash your nails, have yet to find that out,but mine are not good generally anyway.I wouldn't have thought it's good to have them done constantly,I know my mum-in-law has them done all the time.
I would definatlly try the Boots ones.

They look really good :)
I'm hoping to do a nail technician course next year as a way of earning extra pennies once I'm qualified etc :)

THe girl who did mine has only been in business 4 months, she is really good and reasonable. She said she is doing really well,I think because she is undercutting the nail bars. She is based in our local market.
I think it is a good thing to go into.

I have mine done all the time my nails grow fast and generally i have to get in-fills every 2 weeks and they generally last for 4 weeks before having to get a new set put on, please do get them soaked off properly you will have to pay to have them taken off but you can make your nails so much worse if you do it yourself and also it will ruin your nails when you have them taken off but it doesn't take long for them to return to normal but it will only be ridges and they will seem thinner for a little while as well.

Hope i haven't put you off lol also hopefully without offending anyone are you having them done buy a english tech or a chinese tech as they use different acrylic and the chinese tech one really messes your nails up as they use dental acrylic.

I've chickened out :( I've just text my friend and told her that I'm going to get stick on ones instead. I feel bad because now she has to have it done on her own but I said I'll still go with her, though I don't know if the nail place will be annoyed because I made appointments for both of us, but I think I'm going to just have to tell them I'm a wimp :))

Awww Alicia dont cancel they will look great hun :)
And if you want them taken off they can soak them off too so they dont ruin your own nails. x

omg i hope thats not my fault! :{

Alicia don't chicken out it doesn't hurt having them put on or taken off if you pay for them to be soaked off and they will look fab,

Here is a photo of mine... this is when I had them done ready for my wedding :)
My nails are also very small and short. The nail beds are tiny but false nails still last really well on me.

Thanks hun :)
I do love getting them done though, feel ever so girly hehehe.
Go for it, you wont regret it.
I always ask them to cut mine quite short to avoid any painful catches on things lol.. x

I am training to be a nail tech. They last 3-4 weeks before having infills or new nails. However they can come off for lots of different reasons, most likely how the technician puts them on, but also if you have diabetes or another illness or are taking medication, using your nails as tools, the quality of product that is applied to your nail, detergent you use (best to use gloves) also suncream, chemicals and sometimes lots of sun can cause them to yellow. Also if you take the polish off your acrylics only use non-acetone polish remover. And if for whatever reason you need them off DO NOT prise them off like I do even if its lifting off as it can cause serious nail damage. you can bye acetone from boots: pour enough into a bowl (not plastic unless its acetone friendly) and soak your fingers for 10-15 mins until the acrylic has soaked off.
Make sure you apply cuticle oil and hand lotion regularly after having acrylics or a removal done to moisturize your nails. If they chip or lift you should go to your nail tech.
if you want to know anything else I will try and help.

I have Diabetes,up to now mine have been fine

I first had mine done nearly 13 yrs ago for my daughters christening and they lasted about 2 days so I had to go back and she re-did them and they lasted a week.
I've had them done loads since but they never last more than a week, the nails just lift and fall off, I've been told that I have greasy nails (yuk I feel scruffy now :( lol).
Once it even took my natural thumb nail off (bloody hurt like hell).
A beautician recommended that I try Bio gel instead and I absolutelyx)x)x)x) these.
It's your natural nail painted in a french manicure (or colour) and put under a uva light (something like that) and it strengthens your nail but they look fab to, she made my nails look longer than they were and I had them done every 3 -4 weeks and every said how lovely my nails look.
