Does anyone give their guinea-pigs access to a run all the time?

I have moved my 3 sows to a 2 storey hutch which is the biggest hutch I have at the moment but my Mum won't let me buy another one. I've put them in it and it doesn't look too small but I will be buying a bigger one when one of my hutches breaks. Their hutch has a 6ft run attatched to it that they normally have access to during the day, and I was considering letting them have access to it in the night too or do you think I shouldn't risk it? Does anyone do this?
This is their hutch:

No the hutch at the other end has one of my boars in it. He has a ramp down but he doesn't like ot use it so I have to lift his lordship up and down a few times a day :))
My 3 sows haven't quite worked out how to use the ramp in their hutch, and Amber's a bit scared of it too :))

Yes, and there's also 2 other boars which are normally put with their run next to the other run but there isn't much grass next to them at the moment so their hutch is in another part of the garden

I would not leave them out overnight unless you secured the run to the floor, remember foxes visit at night and break into chicken runs.....

I would err on the side of caution

Ok thank you, I don't want to risk them getting hurt so I'll keep them in their hutches at night. I shut them in at 9.30pm and let them out at 7.30am so they aren't really in for long. Thank you for all the help :)

Thats fantastic that they can have that much time outside!
This is something I really need to work on:red
I would keep them in at night though.
Predators can be really canny at times and also I wouldnt like to think of mine getting any little frights from scary noises etc in the night!:...

That is a great set-up, what a huge run! That's the same as my set up, with a double hutch, but my run attached is only 4' X 3.5'.

I wouldn't leave them in the run at night because it's on grass and a fox (or dog) could dig in. Also I don't know how strong your wire is, it looks quite good, but maybe a determined animal could get in.

I let mine have access to the run all day and night but it's on concrete (and on grass sometimes during the day) and the wire is like metal bars and it's very heavy so no foxes could break in or tip it up. So I think it's safe enough hopefully.

Maybe if you put yours on concrete at night, and if you think the wire is strong enough and all, then you could use it at night, but I'm sure they have loads of exercise being in it during the day anyway. :)

i leave mine out in the run during the night but they are in doors, but I would keep them locked up if they are outdoors.

That set up looks fabulous, what lucky piggies! I agree with the other posters better to keep them safely locked away at night!
