Earlier Penny and Luna were sat with me while I was watching tv and they were just still for the last 15 minutes that I had them out. It was strange because they seemed to just flatten themselves out. I have pigtures :))

The flattening themselves out is a lot more noticeable in Penny:

Then Penny had enough of Luna and moved away:

Afterwards when I went to put them back into their cage (after about an hour), I picked Luna up no problem and popped her back, then I went to pick Penny up and she turned around a bit me. I've been nipped by her before, but she's never drew blood. The past week I have noticed that she HATES it when anyone goes anywhere near her tummy, and it has got worse over the past few days. I went to slide my hand under her chest (like I usually do when I go to pick her up) and more or less as soon as I touched her she turned around and bit me, then ran off.
Do you have any idea why this may be?

I don't know about the chest sensitivity. Flattening themselves out is a good sign that they're relaxed normally.

Some piggies are just sensitive but it might be that there's something wrong and it's uncomfortable for her. If in doubt, get her checked out.

It's not really her chest. It's her belly. Sorry I wasn't really clear. When I pick her up, I put my hand under her chest, but they're very young so obviously my hand is quite large compared to them.
Here's a picture of me doing it to Luna cause she doesn't really mind...

It was as soon as my hand touched her belly that she bit me. I don't think it's bloat because I tapped her side and it didn't sound hollow. I did ask about whether people thought she was pregnant, but I was told that she could be, but that she is also too young for me to be suspecting that. She is around 11 weeks old.

How long have you had her? It is possible that she may be pregnant. They can become sexually mature very early.

If her belly is sensitive it could be something, or it could be nothing. If you're concerned, I always think it's better to go to the vet and find out it's nothing than the other way around. :)

Hi, I got her on the 9th June from a friend who bought 2 females and both turned out to be pregnant. She told me originally that they were born mid-april and separated at 3 weeks, however, I asked her for a more definate date last week and she said that they were born between 6th and 8th April (they're both from different mothers) and were separated around 9th May (she knows this because it is not long after her birthday that she separated them). Which means they were around 4-5 weeks when separated from the boys.

I am going to keep a close eye on her over then next few days and if she doesn't seem any better when I try to pick her up, then I'll get her booked in at the vets.

I really hope she isn't. She's just a baby herself.

I have no idea about pregnancy... though since she was with boars past 3 weeks it could be possible. However, mine tend to 'flatten out' when they are mellow/realaxing. My more chill pig will even lay on her side when I'm holding her, or flatten out and kick her feet straight out the back!
