I noticed that Nutmeg had one eye closed all the time, so I investigated & she had a seed stuck in her eye!

See other pic for eye on the right side for comparison. Anyway I gently washed it with warm water and plucked it out with tweezers. She seemed to be grateful & I'm not surprised.

Poor girl ☹️

Well spotted, still might be worth a vet check tomorrow in case it has scratched her eye, she might need some antibiotic eyedrops.

Yes Ill keep checking on her. TBf it must have only just happened as she was fine around lunch time. If it looks sore in the am I'll take her in.

You can't see a scratch on the eye. Only a vet with a special dye can see that. She might have an ulcer developing and if left can cause all sorts of nasty problems and even eye removal and be very painful. Piggies hide pain well as they are a prey animal until it is often too late for you to do anything about it. To be on the safe side, take her to the vet.

She's all tip top now everyone bless her X

Is the dye called iodine? I had this yellow luquid poured in my eye when i scratched my eye ball

The vet has a dye that shows up any ulceration on the eye which can’t be seen without the dye.
It’s worth a vet check just to be sure the eye is ok.

Jemimah had a haypoke last year. Like you I caught it quickly but she still had a scratch on her eye and needed eye drops to heal it.
