I can only make my c&c cage 4 cubes lenght wise as I have a very small room and I decided to make it 4 cubes in the height and 2 width. This has to be divided in two for both my guinea pig and my rabbit. The design at the moment would give the guinea pig a 2X3 area with a ramp to a 2X1 area with another ramp from that to another 2X2 area. Do you think that is enough space for him to run around? Do you think that is enough space for him? Or should I redesign?

Also if I ever was to get another guinea pig in the future, not saying I am just saying if. Would I need to make the cage bigger or do you think there would be enough space in that one for two guinea pigs?

Do guinea pigs like to climb? I just have mine for two weeks so I don't know if he would like the design or not. But its the most I can give him unless I redesign the whole lot.

2 guineas need a minimum of 4' x 2' and each grid is about a foot - so 4 x 2 grids for a pair, min. I can't really work out what you mean from your description, but I think rabbits need a fair bit more space than a guinea.

Guineas are happiest with friends of their own kind, so hopefully you'll have room to find him a pal.

Ill try and explain it a bit better..

He will have 3X2 area and then there is a ramp up to a 1X2 area then from the 1X2 area there is a third floor of a 2X2 area.

The rabbit is kept in the bottom part of the cage and the rabbit has more room than the guinea pig. I just told you the guinea pigs part of the cage. I am planning to get a second guinea pig but my main problem at the moment is to get my guinea pig and my rabbit neutered and then get them out of the pet store cages into a c&c cage with more room. In the meantime though there cages are side by side so they get a bit of company there and in the C&C cage they will be able to see eachother. It is complicated to explain the design of it so try to imagine it.

I have to save up for the neutering which is quite dear, then save up for the c&c cage which is cheep for its size but still costs for my family. Then I will get the second guinea pig with a second rabbit.

do you have a boy gp? you only need to get him neutered if your going to put him in with a girl if you get him a male friend you dont need to get him neutered. hope that makes sense :)

That does seem like enough room for a guinea pig, sounds great for one guinea pig. :) If you had two then it'd be best if the cage was 2x4 on one level. Guinea pigs don't really like to climb but they can usually use a ramp. :)

But to be honest, not really big enough for a rabbit. I understand that you mightn't be able to make more space at the moment, but maybe you'd be able to let the rabbit have some time everyday for exercise hopping around the room or something?

If you litter train the rabbit, and make sure there's nothing he'd eat in the room then he could hop around the room too and would be really happy. :) Just something to think about.

I've seen quite a few 2x4 rabbit cages, and it's ok if they get to hop around the room too, but if he is in there for nearly the whole day, then I'd think about trying to give him more space somehow. Even if you could make it 4x4, then that would be pretty great. If you don't have enough cubes, then you could always take away the guinea pigs upper levels (2x3 would be fine for one pig) and expand the rabbit cage a bit. And the guinea pig doesn't need a roof on his cage (unless you have cats or dogs or something) cos they won't jump out, so you could save some extra grids to make the rabbit cage bigger if you can.

I would recommend 2x6 for the rabbit, if you can, but I understand that there isn't much space, but do think about it. :)

Is there any way you could make a 2x6 for the rabbit, with a 2x4 on top for the guinea pig and even 2 guinea pigs could fit there.

No the rabbit is getting more room. The rabbit gets 2X4 with a ramp and then a 1X2 then another ramp to a 2X2 and then another ramp to a 1X2. The rabbit gets two hours out everyday and no cant have him out full time cause I have dogs and cats. Also rabbit is fully grown and hes about two pounds.

Oh sorry, I didn't realise. He's a tiny rabbit, must be so cute. :)
