Do you put your ramp up at night?

I'm very new to keeping guinea pigs (er, hence the username), and one of the many things I don't know is whether they should be kept in their sleeping area at night. Our two piggies are in a double-decker outdoor hutch in a small enclosed garden, to which I don't think predators could gain access. They've got an igloo in the lower section of the hutch, but the sleeping area is supposed to be upstairs. They're still figuring out how to use their ramp, although they can both get down it, we're not sure if one of them has worked out how to get back up again.
Should I be locking the ramp at night so they remain on the upstairs deck? Or doesn't it really matter?
Thanks for your help.

If it is completely enclosed, i.e non of it leads onto grass. I would leave it so that they can wander around. For instance if there food is on the ground level, they don't always go to bed at night when we do, and they might get peckish but if they can't get down to it they have to wait until the morning for you to come and put the ramp down.

My girls are in a double decker and at night I tend to put the little trapdoor down as I feel it makes them more secure and less draughty!
