do they need friends?

my friend had 2 pigs. one had to be pts. the other one is left and she sais its very lonely. should she get her remaining one a friend. i said she should but she said it would be wrong.

I have twice bonded three year old sows - once with another sow of the same age and once with a 12 months old neutered boar. On both occasions, the piggy made its own choice of mate at a rescue, and both were extremely happy bondings.
