I've been thinking about this, as I moved a lot of my pigs around yesterday and they were all a bit shell-shocked by the change - only moved them to different cages in the same shed, nothing major! Are they happier that things stay the same, or do you think they get bored? I know in zoos etc. they do environmental enrichment stuff, moving things around and giving them things to do... but are guineas the same? I get the feeling mine would rather things stayed where they were!

They do have new toys and things, can't imagine really what a pig considers 'boredom' to be - in the wild, they'd just be grazing all day?

I think it depends on the pig and possibly their age, my little ones seem to quite enjoy having things changed around but my old Boar Ella (in my avatar rip) hated anything to be moved and would actually shove his igloo into a particular spot if you dared to move it

Mine are used to major changes. In the 5 years I have had pigs, I have moved house 6 times. The 8 HGs really don't care all that much! But then they are used to being military piggies; even the newbies always just fit right in with the seasoned travellers. They are freaked out for the few few mins when I do minor changes though (moving things in my room around, moving the cage etc.)
