My two girls are outside and since getting they in may have been on the utility floor for run around time. Still abe to do this at the moment as my utility and outside are similar temps in day. However I'm going all out against my hubby's wishes to bring them indoor next month when it gets colder to be in a cage and floor time in room next door to utility which is a much nicer space with more light. Put them in there for floor time yest to try get them used to new room....... nothing from them at all... hid the full 5 hrs they were there... wouldn't run around wouldn't scurry to find the bits of pepper.... nothing. Started me wondering if I was doing right in the upheaval that 's going to hit when my hubby finds they have moved inside. Will this pass? They had all their normal bits on the floor just a different room..... confused! ! And just a tadge worried... am I risking divorce for nothing :bye::mal:

That's what I was hoping. But I get up every morning and the first thing I think hope they have coped with the cold night.... I even try not to put the heating on sometimes in guilt that I'm warm and they are stuck outside. But at the moment that's home and they love their 2 tier hutch running up and down like maddows. ... so when I bring them in they will be back to 1 floor space and I'm worried I've done the wrong thing

Hi

Once they are inside in the cage there will be no problem., Cage is the cage they will get used to it in it new position in no time

If we put our girls down on the carpet they will freeze, they hate no boundaries.... If we put them down in the same are with the fleece and the run grids around them they feel secure. Make sure there run area if possible has boundaries and their hidey house in they will be much more settled in no time. Piggies are prey creatures and like to feel secure and safe in a territory

Hi , they will get used to it, just take them a little while to get used to new surroundings /new routine. I got my girls in aug 2014, come october we had rain, wind and storms and i brought them indoors. It took them and my hubby a while to get used to it. Now my girls are indoor piggies, going outside in summer when warm and dry enough, and my hubby loves having them in. He's always talking to them and does their breakfast veggies. X

Hope so! Let's just say he is very strict that they are not coming in the house... but we have floor time in the utility which he has just about come to terms with so I'm pushing my luck but got a cage that's suppose to eliminate odour. .. as much as it can. Will use cage fresh and change the pads and sawdust every 1 or 2 days to keep the smell away as much as I can. They do smell when they areach on floor time on fleece but think cos I only wash it about every 4 times of using it. Also it doesn't come out the washer totally fresh as you can't use conditioner. .. what's the best to get rid of this.. can I pre soak in something then wash the fleece? I have a lovely smelling fabric handwash but not sure using that will harm them even if I then wash in machine
