Ermmm... I must sound so thick here.. but I have had a new neutered boar about 4 weeks now...Iggle. ( he was directed to me via a rescue but he never actually stayed there, the owners dropped him off and he came straight home with my daughter - they told us he had been neutered) he is well settled with his three girls now.. but this morning - first time ever I noticed him trying to mate with Boo! x)x) Now he doesnt have obvious testicles - he is about a year old... but I have another neutered boar who never tries to mate his girlfriend?! So is this normal? :{:{:{ Bit worried in case he is still in tact! Pretty sure he isnt ... could this just be dominance behaviour?

Nuetuering doesn't effect their behaviour my boar certainly has his moment when he gets hot under the collar, i do feel for my poor girls, but half the time its them winding him up anyway ha ha!

i have 2 boars both living with girls, bnoth neutered. and one of them was living with girls for over a year before he humped any girl!

the other one humps anything that moves!

i think it depends on the boy.

buy yes they do still want it typical man ;)

OH, YES!

All that neutered boars lack, is the ability to make babies, but it does not impact on their behaviour.

LOL! Oh thankyou for confirming that! Naughty Iggle! xx>>>xx>>>xx>>>

Well he is certianley feeling frisky this morning - quite funny because they are in our office for the winter and our accountant is sat in there doing our tax returns today..... I took him a cup of coffee in... and he pointed out that the guineapigs were playing mummys and daddys! I was horrified to see Iggle on top of Boo - never seen him do that before!! :))

As everyone has said it doesn't change their behaviour! It might be that she is in season. Finley hasn't attempted to hump the girls at all, then all of a sudden he went absolutely wild! :)) Within 24hours it calmed down...they were clearly in season! rolleyes

When I first but Ed in with his wifepig, he tried to mate her a number of times, since they've adjusted to each other he still rumble struts around her but doesn't actually mount her. Like others have said neutering doesn't change the boars behaviour (or train of thought!) it just ends their ability to father young. I wouldn't worry, the female could have been in season or Iggle could have just been having a frisky day!
